Departure by bus to the Park of the Nations to discover the most recent part of the city, planned for the Expo ’98, facing the amazing estuary of the Tagus River. Lisbon´s Oceanarium, inaugurated in 1998 is the largest indoor aquarium in Europe. Divided into two floors where visitors rotate around a huge central aquarium housing hundreds of species including several types of sharks, manta rays and colorful tropical fishes. In this guided visit you will become closely acquainted with the 8,000 animals and plants (belonging to approximately 500 species) in a building designed by Peter Chermayeff to represent the deep oceans as well as the different coastal landscapes and climates on the planet. The Lisbon Oceanarium is a large public aquarium whose prestige is widely recognized, not only in Lisbon and Portugal, but also across the world. Visited by approximately 1 million people every year, the” Oceanário” experience never ceases to amaze both children and adults.
